What To Expect

Your First Day of Treatment

You MUST bring a Government Issued Photo ID with you to your first appointment. You will be required to have a trusted friend or family member drive you and pick you up from your infusion appointments. They do not need to stay with you during your entire infusion. Upon completion of your infusion they will be required to also transport you home as you will not be able to drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours.

The treatment time for ketamine infusion for both depression and PTSD is one hour. A ketamine infusion for CRPS/RSD takes approximately 4-6 hours. We recommend patients bring a personal device with headphones to listen to relaxing music/ambiance, especially for longer CRPS/RSD sessions.

Possible Side Effects

Some possible side-effects include dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and hallucinations. Midazolam or Ondansetron, for example, can be added if necessary for your comfort.

You will have an IV started in your arm, hand or leg to facilitate the infusion of the ketamine.

Your heart rate and blood pressure will be closely monitored during the course of the infusion.
